Default Question about storage

I've been storing my S in the winter for 18 years, mainly because of all the salt they dump on the roads here, and do all the usual stuff to it, but I recently read a thread about how you should set your climate control in the car before storage. I can't find the thread and don't remember what was stated to do.

Referring to the hvac system as in heat, a/c, recirculate. I had read that there was a certain setting that is best to leave the setting at while the car was in storage.

I read the same thread and if IIRC, you should leave recirculate off.

Thank you I think that's what it was.

I would think you would want recirc on so the blend door is set to not let anything from the external vent into the ducts, so rodents n stuff could not ingress via the outside vents? Just trying to think through that a bit

HMMMM now I may be overthinking this, I'm prone to do that, but was it a case of if you leave the blend door shut you may end up with mold in the cabin, you want air to get in? It does make sense to keep it shut to keep the rodents out. I got the Vinny Barbarino I'M SO CONFUSED!!!! going on.

Same here lol. I guess leaving it open prevents stale air and smells, and possibly mold. May also prevent any humidity trapped from becoming frost on the inside by allowing it to equalize as the temp drops. Dammit the more I think of this the more things there are to consider lol. I have never really paid attention either way to how I leave mine, but it is parked inside a garage that is mostly kept above 40 degrees but sometimes is allowed to get much colder

Yeah I guess you can really drive yourself crazy, like I said I'm good at overthinking things. I've never considered what any of the HVAC settings are before in the 18 years I've been storing the car and never had an issue with mold or mice in the car. I did have a mouse get in the airbox two years ago so there is always a first for everything. I seal up the airbox and exhaust now to alleviate that problem.

I leave both windows cracked open (+/-2 ‘’) for air circulation.
