Default Question regarding the OEM oil filter...

Does anyone know the measurements/diameter of the OEM Honda filter? I don't want to pay $25 for the Honda tool, so I picked up a variety pack from Harbor Freight for $5 which has a few different sizes. I need to make sure one is going to fit before I open the package, and don't have a spare filter here. Thanks for the help guys...

If I knew the size I would tell you, but all I can say is you can always call your local Honda dealer and ask

My NAPA filter is 80mm. I'm thinking they may be the same. I'm guessing someone on here has a filter from a local parts store that has a number written on it.

Thank for the help.

I wondering if the cap is just a hair bigger. One of the filter wrenches that came with the set was 80mm, which is 3.15 inches. I'm thinking this is going work.

Thanks again.

Diameter (d) = 2x radius ( r )
Circumference = 2*Pi*r or Pi*d

I had no luck with the cap end wrenches. I had several small ones from other cars and I had to go for one of the claw design (giant pliers). The flats and diameter varied significantly from my factory and the gold I used in a pinch (and the store frams for comparison). This claw wrench is really the only way to take off the filters if they are put on right (tight to spec).
