Default Question on Tien Hood Dampers

Well I installed mine today but can't get the damn things to close. Does anyone else have them who can help me out, and did you have the same problem?

Thanx,
Chris

I installed mine this week and had the same problem. The first time you close the hood the dampers are really stiff. They get smoother once you open and close the hood a few times.

The 1st time I had to pull down with both hands on sides of the front portion of the hood to get the struts to compress. The hood did flex a bit the 1st time I closed it.

That's exactly what happened when I tried to close it. Although I thought my hood (albeit carbon fiber) was gonna snap it was flexing so much. Another board member had the same problem with his dampers. I'll give it another shot tomorrow.

Thanx for the help
Chris

Well I got them to compress but that was pushing them down towards the floor with all my body weight (off the car onviously). I still don't think I can put them on yet, there's no way my hood will close without snapping I'm gonna call Tien and ask them what to do.

Thanx,
Chris
