Default Radiator Leak

Hi guys,

Year is 2000 AP1 and presumably the original radiator. 68,000 miles
Driving home last night my radiator began leaking. I noticed the spray come up from the front of the hood and onto my windshield. Luckily I was a few minutes from home and there was no overheating.

I searched this forum and found this is common for a stock radiator due to being aluminum and plastic sandwiched together.

I am looking to replace with a Mishimoto or Koyo. I am going to replace the thermostat as well, might as well since I will be draining all the fluid. Is it normal to also replace the fan switch? I have seen it mentioned on the forum. The manual refers to it as a thermostat switch 27760-P00-003.

No, you don't have to replace that sensor. If yours is still working fine, which it very likely is, you can just swap it over to the new rad.

Go with a Koyo for sure.

No you don't need to replace the sensor.

The thermostat should be fine. Have you seen where its located? Not something I'd want to do until it's needed. The stock thermostat fails open. So...if yours fails, your coolant just won't warm up effectively.

I didn't think about that, yeah you are right it can wait till it's needed.

So Koyo for sure? The price is better, which is a plus.

A year or so ago my stock radiator leaked. Did all the research, everything everywhere pointed to koyo over Mish.

Super timely, found spilled coolant around the cap of mine today along with what looks like a crack in the plastic. Went to Koyo.

That is the correct part #. I ordered mine from Amazon for $317. The radiator cap was separate SK-C13, I do not believe the stock radiator cap fits on the Koyo.
