how do you remove it?

 

Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine. It goes to the water outlet, which has two bolts with 10mm heads. Remove the housing and the thermo is inside.

Note: Access will be very difficult. So will bleeding the air out of the system once you refill it. proceed with caution
