Default Rain going into engine bay through vented hood

Okay, so I have a vented hood. This is it.

Now my concern is that while driving around when it rains heavily it will go through the open vents in my hood and contact my engine bay and more than likely; my intake filter. Mainly concerned of when I'm stuck in traffic and its raining heavily. Should I be worried about rain going into my engine bay and filter? I know that it'll get dirty much quicker and I've tried contacting the hood company for replacement mesh and they don't have any. I'm planning on just getting my own, but there will obviously still be holes through the mesh which is why I'm still concerned.
Engine bay is very very similar to this:
Ultimate racing turbo kit set up. The vents will be pointing almost directly at the intake filter x_x

So ultimately my question is how much of a concern should this be for me?
If I purchased one of those intake heat shields and faced it towards the vent is it likely it'd do the job for me?
Thanks for all the help, I've done some searches on google and the forums. Had a few results, wanted to know a bit more about when im stuck in one place as that's when more water will be entering.
Thanks again.

Don't drive the car if you know it's going to rain.. That would be my fiery preventative step..

Make a shield, or "umbrella" over the intake? Or if youre not concerned with the actual induction of the hood, the best thing would be to fiberglass over the openings.

Shield the air filter is a good idea.

Biggest damage is going to be from UV sun. It dries out the top of the radiator, it turns white and cracks open. I've done two rads already due to that hood. As a matter of fact the guy is selling the hood for 70 bucks because of it.

You could probably find some inserts, or make them, for when it's going to rain. Get a good body shop to help make them for you and it shouldn't be overly pricey or anything. Best to be safe! This is the ultimate reason I decided to go with an OEM style CF hood vice a vented one since we get so many downpours where I live and I daily my S.

Dammit, I guess for now I'll have to make a shield for the intake and find a way to cover the vents. Didnt have any idea about it drying up the top of the radiator. Will that still be an issue if I have the full aluminum mishimoto though?
Yeah I do agree, the oem hood looks much better and would probably be the best choice, I have one that came with the car, but it is ruined beyond belief. I'll check with some body shops too I suppose. Thanks for your guys inputs.

get the OEM hood refinished and get it on!

covering the vents will look like poop, and be completely useless lol

No the Mishimoto wont do that. The stock one is plastic so the sun deforms it. I wasn't aware of this or the brake caliper thing until today Billman, good stuf to know.

The OEM CF hood that I have has a LARGE crack on it. Not sure if that's even repairable. Probably would have to be filled with fiberglass filler and I'm not sure how that would turn out. Well I'll look into some form of mesh and probably one of those universal intake shields. That's really the only thing stopping me from driving it right now. Well that, and the fact that I'm waiting for my radiator to come in.
How much does the stock oem hood go for btw? (not the carbon fiber one)
It's a little hard for me to know when it'll rain and when it wont as the weather can be somewhat unpredictable where I am.
