as the title says, i have a rattle that sounds like a spring hitting something behind my left ear on the top closing mechanism. does anyone else have this? the rattle disappears when the top is down, but when it's up, i can almost swear that it's the spring. i don't see any other moving parts and i greased all of the joints last winter when they started to creak.

it's annoying. anyone in the DC area want to take a quick 5 minute ride to diagnose the problem?

 

Try wrapping some cloth around the top parts (don't operate it though). See if you can isolate it.
