gawd damn parking blocks! what can i do about the scrapes on the bottom of my 2 month/900 mile old spa yeller bumper?
sand and paint?
new bumper?
will a splitter cover up this mess as well as prevent future damage?

i'm so bummed. this would piss off the pope. any advice would be very much appreciated.

ps - any idea of the cost of a new bumper (painted)?

go out and buy yourself a sock OEM front spoiler, it should cover that right up..
no more than $400 installed.

You could always get a chin spoiler to cover up the damage. It would look great, IMO.

Also, the money would actually go to a modification not just rework. In addition, matching the paint may be a headache as some other owners have expressed about the Spa yellow color.

Lots of pluses, but still a bummer.

OE front lip will cover that up.

New bumper is $300 + paint + labor.

If you plan to keep the car stock height, fix it. If you plan to lower it, the reality is you're gunna get lots of those.

can you sand and paint plastic? i might want to do that AND get a splitter or spoiler. if that is a constant threat (and since i seem to be braindead at times i guess it is) isn't a splitter a good idea? i'm not sure i like the idea of just covering it up, but instead replacing (or fixing) the bumper, and then adding some prevention. i appreciate the posts that you folks have offered so far.

Don't feel bad I did when my car was a week old to the day.. I had to get used to driving a low car again.. My dealer repainted my bumper $275 all Included.. You could never tell it happened...

If you would stay off the ground you will never see it. I easily ignore much worse on my car.

Go to Pep Boys.Buy 1 inch wide mutistripe with yellow and black colors and put at the bottom of the front bumper. It will hide the nicks, look very classy, and resolve the problem for less than $10.00.

oh man, i never imagined that this would be a day to day problem! i'm not sure i can deal with the prospect of this happening multiple times per year. it sounds like the splitter (after the repair) is the answer.
