Default Really rough 5th gear. AP1

I've recently noticed that my 5th gear is feeling very rough when I shift into it or shift out of it. 6th seems to feel a little rough as well. It's not just notchy like the other gears. It actually requires a considerable amount of force to get out of the gear.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

How long has it been since the tranny oil was replaced?

And...

Do you ever skip gears?

Example, going from the top of 2nd or 3rd straight to 5th or 6th.

I got the car used, but I was told that it was changed not long before I got it about 3k miles ago. That may be something to look into though.

I skip gears when I am merging or something because I v-tec it on the on ramp then go to 6th at like 80, it used to grind when I did it fast, but if I let the rpms drop to the right place, it goes right into gear and there isn't a problem.

Mine use to do this. It went away after a while. I misshifted when I was getting onto the highway and it was a major PITA for a week or so. I just kept forcing it into 5th and 6th and have had no issues since. This was about 2 years ago. Not very technical but....

Mine always does that if I'm at the track and use all the lower gears over and over but never get to 5th. By the time I leave the track it won't even go into 5th but after a few days of going up to 6th 5th gear will come back.

Ok. This makes me feel better. I got the car used and I was worried that something was wrong with it. I did drive it pretty hard at our meet of the midwest cruise, so that might have done it.

????

So I'm not supposed to shift into 6th until I'm doing at least 130? Or I'm not supposed to accelerate quickly?
