Default Rear axle TSB

I searched s2ki, as well as majestic honda's parts website but I could not figure out what category it belongs under

anyways. Anyone know what section to search under, or the part number of the axle nut?

DO I even have to get a new nut? Can I just retorque and then stake the old nut again?

I'm pretty sure you can reuse the nut and re stake as well.

(pretty sure - being the key not 100% - I have saw it re used and then others get new......see below LINK)

This may help, come to find out it was in teh FAQ's

I still couldnt find the part though. I guess I'll just reuse it for now.

Definitely re-use it, this way you can tell if it's done right

The stake mark should move from 12 oclock to about 1:30-2 oclock if you do it right.

Of course, this is on an S2000 that has never been tampered with.

So I'm guessing I dont need a torque wrench?

220 ft/lbs is pretty ridiculous - I doubt i'd be able to buy one for a reasonable price...

If i just move it to about ... 1:45 it should be pretty correct right Bill?

No. you have to remove it first and grease the face of the nut.

I wouldn't guess. To tight is no good either.

I popped off my centercap last night - the stake mark was actually at the 10:00 position

this is probably a stupid question that I could figure out myself but... I'm bored at work and dont wanna wait

but does that piece rotate with the rotation of the wheel itself?

Am I supposed to rotate the wheel so that the stake mark is facing 12:00?

Thanks again Bill

Just finished mine. Too lazy to go check if it worked

Re-staking the nut was a bit tough.
