Default Rear Defrost Circuit

Hello,
I have a quick question that I am hoping someone with an AP1 can help me answer. Long story short, does anyone know if the AC compressor relay is involved in the rear defrost wiring circuit? My rear defrost button currently does nothing when presses and I have started to troubleshoot it but have yet to find anything. My ac compressor is not hooked up and I pulled relay to keep from accidentally turning it on (but I no longer have the relay) and I am wondering if by chance the two are related. Anyway if you have a wiring diagram and can shed some light on this that would be great, or if you have a 2002+ AP1 and can pull your AC relay in the under-hood fuse box and tell me if the rear defrost button stops working that would be great too :-).

All cars that I've ever seen have the AC compressor linked to the rear defroster.

Try the service manual to know for sure and how you can bypass this.

Thanks very much for the link to the service manual, sadly the link does not work for me. :-(

I have had similar experiences with other cars as well, but I am curious why the relay for the compressor would disable the rear defrost button all together. I guess I will just buy a new relay so I can try it out, but I was hoping someone could just pull theirs and tell me if the defrost button stopped working.
