Default Rear end noise

Ok, I need some help diagnosising some rear end noise. I started about a week ago. It sounds like constent dull metal on metal noise. Kinda like your bad brake bads on rotors sound. However, i checked the brakes, and they are good, rotors too.
Yet, I still can't figure out what is wrong with it. It makes the noise during acceleration, decel, ect... its fainter at higher speeds and obviously goes away when stopped. Does anyone know what this noise is? I have no idea at this point...

Did you check if you have drag on the rear brakes?

When you turn the rear wheels (with the wheel off the ground and parking brake down) do you hear that metal to metal noise? If it's hard to turn or you hear the noise that means your brakes are dragging.

i did turn the rear wheels, but didn't hear any unusual noise. However, it seems the noise doesnt start until i have accelerated enough.. 10mph+... i doubt i was turning the wheels that fast... Other than brakes, what could be causing this noise.

Fly, i would assume for all intensive purposes that the culprit must be the brakes, but after checking them, i can't see it... maybe i overlooked something?

Have you checked your caliper pins? Make sure they are clean and have plenty of lube. Also becareful not to damage/tear the boot when you take it out to inspect it. There's a possibility your caliper is sticking making your brakes drag, but from what you said I can't be sure. Have you read this thread about wheel bearing failure?

This noise is a constant metal to metal contact noise and not squeaking correct?

Does it stop as you're braking?

fly_S2K brings up a good point, if its a rear brake then you should hear the sound change as you apply the brakes.

Another thing, if its a dragging rear brake then immidiately after some brisk driving you should be able to feel that one rear brake is much hotter than the other.
