Default rear lower shock bolt STUCK #$%@%

we tried:
* impact gun
* pre-soaking w/ pb blaster, telfon lube, wd40
* propane torch
* 250 lb dude standing on a 2' breaker bar
* ground off tack welds of 19mm nut & pounding the bolt out w/ a 5 lb hammer
* jacking up the LCA w/ jack stand to varying stages of compression

it's still there. it twists a lil w/ the lower control arm bushing, but it does not want to slide out. i hv 3 out of 4 corners of my JIC coil overs on... and i'm due to depart for WTD on Thursday nite.

if anyone have any other brilliant ideas, please let me know

buddy w/ propane torch:

geez that car is rusty. I hope you're not trying to get the welded nut off. Seems like this is a common problem for Hondas, a lot of RSX's have the same issue on the passenger rear bolt.

with ur situation, i would just cut off the bolt or worse scenario if u dont need the stock suspension is to simply grind those nut that connected to the bolt because thats all u really need to get those bolt out...i mean this is what i did with my integra back in the days

There's probably still significant force being exerted on the bolt by the spring. Have your 250lb buddy stand on the lug bolts of the wheel to force it down more. Make sure the other side is jacked up as well, or the sway-bar will be working against you.

Like the man said, grid or cut that nut off and then you can pound the bolt right out! Oh, and a two foot breaker bar isn't that big...use a hollow pipe to extend it out to 4 feet or so and you'll generate much more leverage.

What were you doing with the propane torch?

You're not working on the welded nut, right? (Hope not, since you got the other side done.)

Big honkin' impact gun is your best bet (rent/borrow from auto parts store.) Your buddy jumping up and down on a breaker bar is more likely to bend the a-arm than break the bolt. Could be that the bolt's truly seized, in which case you're...well...screwed.

Take a look at a S that has never seen a winter and you'll realize how rusty your car's suspension is.
