Since you are in a warm clime I think you will find MTL to thin; consider MT-90 or if you are pleased with shift performance continued use of the Honda fluid.

...and I will say again:

Redline discourages using shock-proof in non-racing applications. It works best only at racing temperatures.

pfb: redline also recomends MTL for the tranny which is known to not work nearly as well and I don't even carry the MTL because the MT-90 is that much better in our tranny.

None of us have scientific proof either way about the SPHW, so I'm not gonna try to argue w/ you.

BTW We now carry 75W90, 75W140 and Shockproof HW in the marketplace, for those wanting a choice between the 75W90 and the SPHW you can run teh 75W140.

well i drive my car VERY hard. so i was told that the shock proof was better for me. i do race a lot. as far as the tran goes, i never got the second gear grind tsb fixed. so i read that the mtl would be better. i can trade the mtl for the for the mt-90.

you need to explain this:
i do race a lot.
what are we talking about here?
street racing?
1/4 mile stuff?
auto-x?
OT?
wheel to wheel?

I think that would make it easier for people to give you advice.

I have no problems with folks using Shockproof, and as I've said before, I use it in some of my motorcycle applications.

My point was that most folks assume that products designed for "racing" applications are better, and often they are a poor chocie for street use in a daily driver.

I do agree that MTL is too thin for our tranny's and a 50/50 MTL/MT-90 mix or straight MT-90 works better.
