Reinstallin alternator

Thumbs up Reinstallin alternator

Do you guys know of any tips to get the bottom of the alternator back into that tight space? I dont want to bang on it to get it in.

Wish I could help more, but on mine I had to bang the hell out of it to get it in. Good to see your taking care of your car, but sometimes you gotta play the hard way.

yea i kinda want to void hitting the alternator, i dont want to have to take it out again because i broke it lol

Use a steel brush or some sand paper to remove dirt and grime, then spray some wd40 on the brackets and it should just slide right in.

oh yea and use the bottom bolt as guide to help you position it correctly.

Just tap it with a hammer, it works everytime.

ive seen alternators come with the wrong bushings on the bottom bolt side, causing the alt. to not even slide into the bracket haha.

lube and push

a little love tap on reinforced area of the housing can't hurt

The alternator bottom bolt mounts in a floating bushing.

When you remove the alternator bolts, just tip the alternator forward with a bar and the bushing will move outwards.

Now you can just lift the alt out and in with ease.
