Install it and the clutch disk, then mount the pressure plate. Align the clutch, and bearing with an alignment tool and tighten the pressure plate.

That about does it.

lol, thanks

I have the manual

is it supposed to sit tight between the clutch disk and pressure plate?
my new clutch disk is six sprung and the old one was 4 sprung.......the release bearing sat higher because of the bulge on the old disc's springs. Now the bearing sits flat on the disc because the springs are smaller and there are more of them

I was testing on the old flywheel so i would have an idea before i got back under the car.
When i install the new clutch, bearing, and pressure plate.....the bearing sits loose between the clutch and pressure plate. There is some play, where as when i reinstall the old stuff the bearing sits tight between the old clutch and pressure plate with no movement.

What i am getting at is that i would like a few more details than just "install it"
Alignment is not the issue......fitment is what is in question

both you and the manual say "install the release bearing on the pressure plate"

well i guess it's my fault for not paying attention when i pulled it off, but i just need a few more directions than "install"

does it rest on the fingers of the pressure plate
or is it pressed between the clutch disc and pressure plate
and what exactly is holding it in place?

and what exactly is holding it in place? the pressure from the springs (or fingers) of the pressure plate.

Our car uses a Pull type clutch. When you pull on the bearing, the pressure plate releases.

that is what i was afraid of

with the new clutch disc the release bearing does not sit tight between the pressure plate......i guess i will call the clutch company and get their input

thank you for the help

With the trans not installed the release bearing will be loose BEHIND the pressure plate diaphragm springs.

The Bearing isn't supported until the trans is installed and the fork pulls the bearing back on the sleeve that covers the input shaft seal.
