remote doesn't open trunk but can from inside

I can pop the trunk with button inside car but the one on remote doesn't work. Any thoughts? The remote is programmed to the car since I can open the doors with it.

You have to press and hold down on the button until it opens. When did you last change the battery?

don't you have two sets of keys? wouldn't it solve alot to just try the other set first?
