Angry Remote locking woes

I'm having problems locking my s2k. I'll go back a little way, and include everything that may be relevant.

Bought the car May 2014

Early 2015 I had a new battery. Everything was fine afterwards. Including the intermittent boot opening.

~5 Months ago, I replaced the battery in my main keyfob, and at the same time, I tried to program the 2nd key fob which never worked.
I had many hassles, and after about 40 attempts the 2nd key fob was working, as was the main. Along with the boot, as it always had done.

First thing I noticed after this was, the LED for the immobiliser. If I cut the ignition and left the car alone, this would start flashing. Same if I unlocked the car and left it (as normal). However when I locked the car, the LED would no longer flash, but stay on permanently. All seemed as it always has been other than that.

Recently (last 2-3 months) I've been having difficulty locking the car with the fob, and seemingly getting more frequent. I can stop the car and get out, the fob won't lock. The immobiliser will come on flash as normal, but won't lock. After maybe a minute, I can unlock/disable the immobiliser with the fob, then immediately lock the car. It will sometimes operate as normal.

Unlocking seems to operate as normal, it's only the locking that's an issue.

Any ideas?

Immobiliser seems to function normally. I would say remote receiver, but it's only happening when locking, seems fine unlocking. Although I do vaguely recall 2 or 3 times over the last few months, it didn't unlock at first press, and I assumed fob battery.

Thanks.

Is this another dealer or importer installed "immobilizer?" The only times I see this word are in UK posts with some sort of non-OEM alarm.

AFAIK it's an OEM alarm.

I've had the battery disconnected for a couple of hours. Reconnected it and left for a touch over an hour. Locking/unlocking worked fine. However now I get the typical alarm beep when locking... Never had that in the 2 years of having the car.

Will see how it goes over the next few days. May completely disconnect over the weekend for 12 hours, then reconnect and leave.

Well the battery disconnect didn't do anything.
