Default Removing the A/C

I will be removing the A/C from my car in the next month or so and wondered if there are any problem areas that i would come across.
Reason for removal- I never use it.

Thanks in advance

If you take out the compressor, you'll need a much shorter belt. As for the rest, it's quite an extensive bunch of plumbing. You intending on taking the dash apart to get the heat exchanger out of the airbox?

The idea was to remove the compressor, radiator, condenser with pipe work, after having the system drained.
I have the shorter belt allready, I just wondered if there was going to be any other major parts to take off prior in doing this? or any particular bit that was arkward.

Don't you at least use the A/C, together with the heater, to defrost the windows and dehumidify cabin air?

I've had the car since new (2001) and have used the A/C once in all that time, I've never had to defrost the windows at all, mind you I only use it in the summer.
I would have prefered to have had the A/C as an factory option rather than standard as I would have ordered the car without.

That's all you need to do. If you have the shorter belt, you're all set. Everything just unbolts. For anyone else who is contemplating this, here is a list of belts that will work:

Bando 6PK1145
Goodyear 6PK1005
Goodyear gatorback 4060450
Goodyear 6PK1143

PS: The voice of experience as I took mine of 8 month ago.

You probably won't see much in the way of performance gain by just taking the a/c off the block. I think it weighs about 15lbs.? and that little bit of friction from the belt running across it.

Are you going to strip the rest of the car? Then it would be worth it.

I would imagine just the a/c would = .05 seconds faster to Sixty.?
