Removing ECU

once removed, i'll replace them with standard 10mm bolts. thats for sure

Yea , its the top middle one.

Does anyone know what these are called, So i can purchase a bit from the net.

Try to use a better gripper.

In the mean time I will look for those special bits.

JDM cars have a hexagon 6mm Bolt.

All you need to remove them is a 10mm Socket.

Trip - I also had those bolts on my car - they were introduced on the 01/02 onwards ECUs. I managed to get them off with a 7.5mm socket. But the middle one is a bastard! It just kept rounding off so I ended up bending the aluminium guard for the connectors to disconnect the ECU and then managed to undo the bolt outside the car with some vice grips.

Just hammer a 7mm socket on them, undo easy then.
