Default Removing RSR Silencers

I installed my RSR Exhaust the other day and the sound is great but I want to hear it first hand with the silencers out. I removed the bolt and put some WD-40 on the egdes and tried the "Up and Out" method RSR themselves suggested but I can't get it to move at all.

Any have experience with this system and have any advice for me?

I have an RSR exhaust kit on my S... The sound without the sinlincers is way loud. I could not hear my music at lower RPMs but in VTEC it sounds simular to the sound the exhaust makes when the silincers are in. You will not be able to get them out on your own unless you tie a chain around a tree and drive away to pull them out. They are just as hard to get in. I had my local muffler shop take them out and they had to put them back in for me. What they do is that have a tool that enlarges the muffler just a hair so they can pull the silincer out. They only wayt they could get them back in was to use a special metal cone that fits into the silincer opening and they used a special rubber mallet to tap/hammer them back in. I hope this helps. I really like the sound with the silincers in. I sound with them out is so cool but its really only good if your at a track or something because like I said before its so lound down low you can't hear music let alot talk to the person next to you. Let me know what you think.

If these are conventional slide in silencers you should be able get them out by analysing and working with the forces involved. Get the car hot so the muffler expands, then use a spray bottle to spray water on the silencer face to cooly it while pulling on the silncer with pliers or vice grips. Some WD 40 can only help too.

Another method I've heard of it to run the engine and let the exhaust pressure push it out. Just make sure there is nothing important behind it because when it gives it can comes out pretty fast.

I have no probs with taking off the silencer on my RSR. It's a b*tch and a half, but I usually just use a plier and hold on to the middle of the silencer and pull HARD!

Bend the hangers accordingly.
