Default Removing the S2K Motor

Hi guys which way is the easiest way to remove the S2K motor? Should i just take the engine and transmission out as one, or should i just remove the engine itself? I heard there are some pretty tough bolts to reach when just removing the engine.

remove the subframe and drop the engine and gearbox in one. That is by far the easiest way to do it. To take out the gearbox anyways, you have to basically drop the subframe as well. Might as well remove a few sensors from the harness on the gearbox and pull it out as one.

you can remove the subframe if you put he car on jackstand (ive done it before)/ you could try using the hoist to jack the car up and over the engine. you will need air tools also and a pretty healthy sive compressor.

without a lift you'll need to seperate the engine and tranny and pull the engine out from the top with the hoist.

did mine in my garage with 2 jacks, 2 jack stands, a lot of wood and bricks and a dolly. I've been doing it that way for 3 years now for various cars. Takes a while, but works perfectly.

I removed mine this past weekend in my garage. I had the engine stripped down to a shortblock. Dropped the trany and pulled it out with an engine hoist. Lots of work, but nothing I would call hard. Putting it all back together will be interesting though . I have pictures if you are interested, but I'm away from home and can't post until Wednesday.
