removing tct..
So I am going to be removing the tct now just double checking myself so I don't seriously mess up. I need to go buy a 5x 8mm bolt and lock nut, thread that into the hole where the little valve is and turn the bolt until the piston retracts back into the housing, then locknut the bolt in place. Pull the tensioner out and that's it. then to put back in, bolt to head loosen the bolt on tensioner and the piston will just go back to where it was? like I said just double checking service manual. is this right? thanks guys
Just thread the bolt on and cinch up the nut. If you're replacing the tct, the bolt & nut are just to keep the piston from popping out when you remove the assembly. If you're re-using it, you can put the whole thing in a vice and use the bolt to retract the piston. With the piston fully retracted, you can pin it in pace. Once you re-install it, you can remove the allen-head bolt/cover on the front of the head and pull the pin.
