Removing Throttle Body: Help anyone?

Default Removing Throttle Body: Help anyone?

Hi guys im considering removing the OEM TB so i could get it bored out a few mm's at some machinist. Has anyone dones this themselves at home? Or is it so complicated I should leave it to a mechanic?

I haven't done it, but I would guess that the Helm's manual would explain it in detail.

alas i would in a heartbeat
but i live in new zealand and the shipment to send/recieve TB from th states is just not viable for me

Its easy...one thing you have to remember is when you take the map sensor off, make sure the o-ring under it comes off.

it's simple, don't worry about it. just make sure you have a really dull object to hammer it off of the intake manifold. it doesn't have to be done too hard, but after a while it starts to stick onto the intake manifold (most likely cause of the gasket).

If your going to bore out the TB are you also going to have your intake manifold done as well?
I just don't see the benefit of doing just the TB, because the manifold is still the same life blood sucking size as before. So I would think you would have to do both to see any real benefits.

or I'm just missing something...

I have seen a dyno chart with a Speed TB.
+3 HP and TQ throughout the whole power band.
Minimal gains but does make a difference.
