Default Replacement Key

So, I bought a used 04. It came with only one of the cool "laser" engraved keys. I want to get a spare key as well as a remote.

The dealer tells me that an 04 came with the one special key, one regular key (like the 03's and before) and one grey valet key.

Is this correct? He told me for my spare key I didn't need to buy the $190 list price special key, that the regular $40 list key would be fine, although it would still need to be programmed for $69. Also, the remote lists for $140. Are there clones?

What do you guys think?

Yes you can just get a regular key from them instead of the special key and as far as the remotes go you can find them really cheap on ebay and they're very easy to program just research it

Ok, I took a look around on eBay. I can get a regular key, but they still have to cut it and program it. They're less than $10. Dealer wants $69 to program it.

But does it cut normally like any key, or does it look like the cut on the special expensive key?

The remotes I've found on eBary for about $40. Cool. But, it looks like from the programming directions that you need a working remote to program any new ones. Is that correct? I don't even have one...

Ok, cool on the remote.

As far as the key goes, the 04 came with three "types". A nice looking one that goes for $190 at the dealer. A regular looking one that goes for $32 at the dealer, and the grey valet key. I know that any key still needs to be programmed at the dealer...
