Default replacement for the PCX oil filter

hi all:
so hypothetically if I can't locate the PCX filters, is there another filter from honda/acura; or after market filter I can use on the S? Would it be good for temporary or long term? Any significant difference in oil flow characteristics?
Thanks.

ÿou never really know about the exact flow characteristics, they will all meet minimum standards but could still be worse than the Honda filter in terms of flow. I always order a few Honda filters at a time and always keep spares on hand so I don`t run into issues finding one on short notice.

Purulator One seems to be the favourite and a highly rated aftermarket filter, I wouldn`t have issues running it. I`ve read some good recommendations on Napa Gold and Wix aftermarket filters. But I`d still prefer the proper Honda filter if you can get it.

^ thanks s2kmiami69,
but I am using the car in china, and they don't officially sell the S here, local dealerships aren't exactly helpful either. Some claimed the PCX part # didn't exist.
I can find the 15400-PLC-004 & 15400-PLM-A01, I believe they are for CRVs or TSXes ? Seems like they are the same size as the PCX. I am wondering if anyone has any experience using these two.
I can also get the filters from HKS and power enterprise, just don't know if they'll do any damage.

Any filter that fits without leaking "works". Stay with a major brand and (if possible) avoid filters made in China.

not sure about availability in china, but purolator pure one, k&n and mobil 1 are all good filters with good innards, silicone antidrainback valves, etc. would still order the pcx if you can though.

If you buy a few extra, make sure you keep em in a closed container. I had two gaskets ruined by @#$@#$ roaches.

Baldwin and Fleetguard are good filters and are available world wide.
I use the Baldwin B7042 on my car, for the Fleetguard filter p/n is LF3369 these are big filters.
If you want a filter that is a little smaller, the Baldwin filter p/n is B168 or B199 and for the Fleetguard p/n LF3361 or LF716 these filters are 3" in dim. and 4 1/2" to 5 1/8" long.

thanks for all the input guys, phaphapho, do you happen to have the parts # from K&N on hand?
the PLM and PLC filters are both made in China, which I totally intent to avoid. from my experience, Made in china is not necessarily bad, just buying made in china stuff inside china is a big no no.

You should be able to find the Hamp filter in China, it's a quality filter manufactured in Japan.

Filter review.
