Default Replacing with EZ-ON Cloth Top

Hey guys, I just got my EZ-ON CLOTH Soft Top in the mail! I can already tell it is way nicer quality than the OEM vinyl.

I have a couple of questions about the install though. The other thread about installing a soft top is for a early model s2k,with a plastic top. Does this still work for the 06' with glass windows? IS there any changes? Here is the thread. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/448.../page__st__225

Also my top didn't come with any rivets or hardware like I've seen. Is that bad or do I reuse everything my old soft top has? I noticed the new top didn't even come with new elastic straps..

I would like to make this install as easy as possible, so if you guys could leave any tips or tricks that helped you install it would be much appreciated. Cheers!

That's an odd place for a soft top.

I made the switch, but I paid an interior shop to do it. They are pros, and it took them a full 8 hours to get it done. I am very glad I didn't try to do it on my own, it would have been a long, drawn out process.

Before.

After.

Was that a really old before picture? That before picture almost look better than the after picture. I know glass is better but plastic but that plastic window has SO much more visibility than the small glass window. And the old top appear to be in good shape (perhaps there was damage not shown in the pic?). Why the changeover?

I replaced my OEM top with a Robbins top and even though a package of fasteners came with it the dealership elected to use OEM rivets and splash shield. You're probably going to have to replace those pieces anyway. Good luck!!!

Go to homedepot and buy the rivets and gun. I can't recall what size but they box is on my garage bench.
