replacing knock sensor.

I broke 2 of these within 4 weeks. broke 1 removing the tranny /top starter bolt. Then, I broke the replacement sensor.

The two pieces are NOT soldered together. One half is metal, the other half is plastic. Inside, there are two very fine wires, which will break easily, if the metal/plastic joint breaks apart. Good luck soldering those small wires inside there, as they're not very long.

no the two metal pieces are soldered together...one is the part that has the threads and the other has the plastic lip...but both have a flat metal dish like end on 'em

both of mine broke where the plastic lip sits inside the metal channel. Looked like it was glued in place during manufacture. I guess we can both be right.

the s2000 vs odyssey parts pricing mite be true from what ive seen with other makes. bmw has a 99-03 540 and also has a 00-03 m5. they both use same front brake pads and the 540 ones are about 40-60 dollars cheaper. different part numbers but the only difference is the "trick" used on m5 pads. they draw into the pads an arrow as to make it look like its special and ive never heard of directional pad lining

P0235: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction (bank 1 or single sensor)

Can this code for the knock sensor mean anything else, or is it one of those things where its 99.9% certain that I just need to replace my knock sensor like shown on this post? I will order it if so, but I just want to make absoultely sure that it just needs to be replaced and nothing else before I do...

Then yes a knock sensor is needed. Has a starter or trans or clutch work been done recently?

sorry- yes, thats what I meant, and the transmission was replaced a almost a half a year ago but the code didnt start coming on until a couple weeks ago. If you still think it needs replacement, where is the cheapest to get it besides honda? I tried some of the links posted and they dont work anymore...

Even so, I'll bet it was disturbed during the trans removal. I can almost guarantee it.

Honda is the only source I know.
