So my low beam headlight went out and pulled the broken light bulb out with some resistance.....
Pic of broken light:
I went to the parts store and asked for the replacement bulb. They didn't have it in stock in 2 places.
I went home and checked on line stores to order it, but nothing looked like the one that I pulled off my car. So I took the broken bulb back and got a replacement of the one that was on my car
This bulb did not fit the connector on the S and it looks like the former owner jerry-rigged it to fit.
So I saw a good deal in the F/S thread and bought an HID one
The connector on the back doesn't match what is on my car.
Which one is supposed to fit on the S???? I have an 02'
our bulb is D2S........I bout ones off of ebay for 27 bucks shipped....I still have my oem ones, but I just wanted to see how long these would last and its been about 3 months and they're fine. I bought the 8k ones off ebay.
The first bulb "the broken bulb" (looks OK to me) , that is your high beam, wich are H1's
The bulb in your second photo has two filaments in it for a hi/low combination.
a 9007 or something that does not fit our car.
Our low beam's are HID, the third bulb you have is hid. it looks like the d2s ( looks like the right bulb, but I'm not 100%) . those are a bitch to change...
If your low beam is the light that is broken, you removed the wrong bulb, you have to remove the front inner fender to get to the place where the HID bulb is, but it might not be the bulb that is broken, other shit can go wrong on the hid system. fuse 43 and 45 under the hood could be bad, or the inverter could be messed up, i'd check the fuses, if they're good go for the bulb.
To get to the HID bulb you'll need a torx bit
Once you remove the front of the inner fender you'll see a circular plate on the back of the headlight assembly, you have to unhook the electrical connector, and unscrew the torx bolt holding the circular plate.
Once the plate is removed you'll have to unhook a spring, then turn and remove the bulb.
Hope that helps, its hard to explain without pictures.
Good Luck!
So i just realized you can zoom in on the pictures on S2ki.
What does that mean for you? It means that you actually do have , a D2s bulb. so get to removing that inner fender.

Not that it matters but the other bulb was a 9007
The metal plate that covers the headlight is missing....(WTF!!!!)
