Default Replacing Valve Cover Gasket

Looks like I have a slight oil leak so I'm going to replace the valve cover gasket.

What are all of the gaskets and seals I should order/replace while I'm in there? Part numbers would be great as well. For example, do I need the spark plug tube seals too?

I found the following parts description from some site:

"Ishino Valve Cover Gasket Set
04-09 Honda S2000 2.2 F22C1 This gasket set includes 1 valve cover gasket and 5 sealing washers for the valve cover retaining bolts. Order the spark plug tube seals separately (use 4 of 12342-PCX-004) if using this gasket set. Also available is gasket set JVS-40258-US which includes the spark plug tube seals as well as the valve cover gasket and sealing washers. Valve Cover Gasket Set w/ spark plug seals This gasket set includes 1 valve cover gasket and 5 sealing washers for the valve cover retaining bolts. Order the spark plug tube seals separately (use 4 of 12342-PCX-004) if using this gasket set. Also available is gasket set JVS-40258-US which includes the spark plug tube seals as well as the valve cover gasket and sealing washer"

Only buy HONDA parts not generic brands. Go here:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...NDER+HEAD+COVER

Item 001. Part# 12040-PCX-305

I would definitely only buy Honda parts

So all I need to order is (1) 12040-PCX-035?

No need for spark plug tube seals or are they included in the set above?

Thanks!

Any chance you know the part numbers for those too?

They should be on that same page, on that same list. Let me know if not I'll try to find them for you.

You're right; my bad for not looking closely.

So this is what I have down (so far):

(1) "GASKET SET, HEAD COVER " p/n: 12040-PCX-305
(4) "SEAL, SPARK PLUG TUBE (NOK) " p/n: 12342-PCX-004

Is that the complete list of parts I need for the job?

That should be it. The gasket set already includes the valve cover bolt seals

You may be able to pull the cover and clean and grease the seals and seat with silicone grease. That usually does the trick.

be careful when putting the valve cover back on. pay attention to the rear cam gears as it cuts the gasket.
