Default Requesting AP1 retainer evaluation

I still think it is difficult to tell due to light and such. I took these with the car outside and tried my best to finagle my camera into the valvetrain area with flower mode on. With the naked eye and laying basically inside the engine bay, I didn't see any of the sidewall of the retainer. I'm hoping maybe a better trained eye can give an opinion or share some knowledge. I'm also hoping that maybe these photos can help contribute to the database of retainer pictures. There is a double BTW. I couldn't decide which photo better displayed the retainer so I left them both.

Thank you in advance.

They look OK to me, that's how mine looked when I checked them.

Dozens and dozens of times. haha

I'm just an OCD nutcase with mechanical and electrical assemblies. I don't feel like I'm fully competent until I have correctly evaluated and personally/physically corrected a specific deficiency a couple times.

they look okay to me too, it is normal to see slight amount of the chamfer at the top edge, the don't look sunken to me and no signs of cracking in those pics.

If I were looking at a retainer (not a pic) the last pic definitely looks broken. That is what the eye will see.

It could be just the lighting.

The only pic with perfect lighting is the second one. And that is what a good retainer looks like.
