Thumbs up resetting seatbelts

i recently got into an accident and the airbags deployed. the seatbelt no longer retracts, it just stays at the same position.

i dont plan on putttin airbags back in, instead, im gunna go with aftermarket hub and wheel.

i was wondering if the seatbelt can be reset so theyll retract again, correct me if im wrong, but i think the part im talking about is the pre tensioner.

i just want to find out before i drop 250 on a new seat belt.

thanks
Cliff

Once the seatbelt pre-tensioner has deployed (done its thing), it must be scrapped.

Man lots of airbag deployments lately. It looks like the best new price you'll find for retractors, and bags is about $1800. Might be worth looking on Ebay.

I wonder if it's possible to take them apart and fix them so, they'll work as normal belts? I'll let you know what I find out.

To me the S2000 airbags are too sensitive. In my case it wasn't much of an impact. They just shot their loads, burned my hands and I wasn't even close to them.

Good info and interesting, I was unaware that S2000 airbags are so easily excited.

Seatbelt issues should be covered for life by Honda, no?

EDIT: Nevermind. I guess this is a direct result of the wreck?

Yes, hit something not that hard, say goodbye to $1800.

It all depends. I had a huge wreck on the track a couple years ago, bounced off of concrete walls on either side of the fronst straight. Neither impact was head-on, and the airbags never deployed even though the car was just about totalled.

Hmm I just bounce off a jersey wall and away they want. I'd call your case defective airbags.

Anyone want to sell me a front clip?

Im not sure how they work, but I guess if you have the time, just see if its some simple tab or something that is locked in position and just has to be reset. If you actually have to take it apart and mess with it, I think I would definately just spend the money on new belts.
