Resurfacing Rotors
Some shops will not replace pads without resurfacing the rotors. If they are not causing a vibration under braking don't worry about it.
Resurfacing slotted or drilled rotors can be a little difficult due to the lathes bit breaking contact with the rotor surface . In some cases the bit will break, making resurfacing difficult. Some shops don't like the added hassle of damaged bits and restarting the resurfacing procedure every time the bit has to be replaced.
It would also be wise to contact the rotor manufacturer to see if they reccomend resurfacing a slotted/drilled rotor.
