Default Reverse bolt on tranny?

well hears my situation. the shop that is putting my motor in says that on the tranny a bolt was missing for the car to go in reverse or something of that nature. he now says he has to take it to a tranny shop to see what the issue is. does anyone have a clue about what bolt or nut im talking about. if so is there a certain way to get it in?

You need to get a better description of what the shop is talking about if you expect to get an any help here. But I'll take a guess that your shop screwed something up removing the engine and they have come up with some cockamamy story about a bolt was missing.

I'd be in there with a diagram asking them to point out the part.

Sounds like they're trying to pass the buck for something they did wrong.

An internal bolt? Then it could be anything...

There is a bolt for the reverse idler gear shaft that is bolted through the case. If someone where to remove this bolt the reverse idler shaft could turn and the only way to get the bolt back in is to open the transmission case, so you can turn the idler shaft and it's holder.

The bolts on the gear on the diff are usually reverse. At least they were on a b-series LSD I installed.

A B series trans has a differential inside the same case, not so on a S2k. The bolts that hold the ring gear on are completely unrelated to the gear inside the trans that is used for reverse.

Maybe they just don't know to push the shifter in to engage reverse?
