Um, lets make sure we got this right. Did you put the trans fluid in the TRANSMISSION, or the DIFFERENTIAL?

If you put it in the diff get it out immediately. It requires a GL5 or higher fluid, like LE607 or 75w90 Mobile1 GL5 gear fluid.

On the trans, I doubt you'd have too many issues. You can run 10w30 in your tranny in an emergency, thought I wouldn't do it very long.

Most people use GM Syncromesh or just Honda MTF in the trans. I'm sure someone here can tell you whether the royal purple is ok in the tranny, thought Royal Purple isn't too popular with some of the people on the boards here.

This is what I use: http://www.royalpurple.com/prodsa/scmax.html

I've had it in since I had 6,200 miles. I'm now at 12,800. So far,

FWIW, I use the RP 10W30 in the engine and the MaxGear in the diff. I have a Barney car

GL rating is only important on our car for the DIFF, not the tranny. Something that is GL4 or GL5 would be too thick to even put in your tranny.

Though I'm unsure what it is you put in your tranny, as I avoid Royal Purple like the plague. Their UOAs show they wear down and break down very quickly, at almost TWICE the rate of LESS expensive fluids such as mobil 1 and LE 607. To quote Road Rage, royal purple is nothing more than mediocre at best, and you can get MUCH better oil for the same amount of money.

I know this thread is'nt about engine oil but just FYI, royal purple is great but you must change it more often than a regular synthetic, RP is a race oil designed to be used in race engine,,,,,that get rebuilt often, and never see 4-5k miles between oil changes, the breakdown property's of this oil in extreme temps are better than most, it's the longevity of the oil that lacks, so if you race, or do some autox, than i would be changing it more often.

IMO

I use LE607 in the diff, Redline MT-90 in the tranny, and Mobil 1 syn so I can go longer between oil changes.

I use as advised by RP the 10x30 in the engine and trans, Max Gear in the Diff.
