quick question probably answered a million times but please excuse the newbness of it. First car i've ever bought myself, everything signed under my name and i'm working to pay for it and all that junk, so the slightest of things kind of freak me out at this point- like the auto down feature of the window not working (got that fixed thanks to a thread i found on here) etc etc. Well my battery died a week or two ago and i am guessing the ECU reset, jumped it and let it idle in my drive way for a good 15 -20 minutes. my car idles no more than 1200 rpm at stop lights, all the time. is that too low? sometimes it goes as low was 900 rpm, seems a little low doesnt it? I never noticed how low it idled at till just a couple of days ago, and since then i've been watching it. any suggestions, sorry i dont mean to thread jack but its in the same area of the thread

900rpm is perfect for idle once the car is warmed up.

Hey, ssmAP,

I spent some time with the driver/owner of the quickest S2000 on Earth (great photo BTW, the Quickest and the Fastest). He runs' 7.99 at about 165 mph un-blown and on gas. He has about the most radical cams I have ever seen in any motor, does not run the VTEC (when you get SERIOUS you find that VTEC slows you down) and the thing idles like a watch at 1425 RPM.

If anything 1200 rpm is a bit fast, unless it has not warmed up yet and maybe the A/C is on.

Have fun with your ride. Some things are just worth making payments on.

Jim
