Default RPM stayed at 6k even when in neutral

So i just got a K&N filter and installed in the other day. Today as I was driving, I decide to gun it. When I tried to put it in neutral, the RPM would not go lower than 6k. When I put it back into gear, the RPM would increase without my foot on the pedal. Anyone know what's going on? I wouldn't think changing the filter would have something to do with it.

Help!

Dam...first thing I'd do is make sure your throttle plate isn't sticking, or the cable isn't getting hung up on something.

Your clutch might be slipping.

If your description is correct, your clutch is NOT slipping.

That was exactly what I was thinking. There are several hoses attached to the intake air box and the "snorkal".

Guys, he figured it out. So basically, billman was right... the throttle was stuck.
