Hello,

I am currently rebuilding my shifter, unfortunately this rubber piece in the middle is broken. But I don‘t know how to replace it, because it is trapped between the lever and the metal ball. Has anybody ever done this and could me help here?

 

Cut the old one off, lubricate the new one and slide it down the shifter.

 

Thank you! I was not sure and I didn't want to break the rubber, but this method worked. You need quite a lot of force to slide it over, but it has not damaged the rubber.
