?'s on modifying OEM shifter
I just got my ARC TI shift know and i would like it to sit about an inch lower. Is it detrimental to cut about 1in of the threads off of the top of the shift lever? I took the center colsole off and there is plenty of threads, and below the threads the lever extends about an inch the exact same size so if i run out of thread the knob will slide right over that part. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
Also i am wondering what the difference is betwees the C's short shifter and a "modified" lowered OEM shifter. (besides the slant)
If i do go through with lowering it, will it hinder or make it difficult any of the shift gates? I do want to damage the quality or feel of the shifts, i just want the knob to sit a little lower. Thanks for the help..
Oh i also checked and found the Lever brand new four about $80 shipped to my house, so it shouldnt be to hard to get another one if this dosent work. PLease let em know what you guys think.

I'm not sure why cutting the shift arm would really hurt anything. Its very simliar to using a counter sunk knob. I cut the arm on an old accord that I had and never saw any negative effects but I am not positive about this.
Since you mentioned the slant you probably already know the C's kit is for RHD only and can be bent slightly.
I personally think that the counter sunk knobs like the voodoo are about perfect and wouldnt want it much lower.

A short shifter has a whole new base assy, which raises the fulcrum point. Hence, the throw distance is shorter, not the actual height of the knob. Very trick...
