Default S2000 Gear Max Speed

I've read someone post the max speed in each gear for AP2 until hitting 8000rpm as:
1st - 37.91
2nd - 58.08
3rd - 80.19
4th - 102.30
5th - 126.08
6th - 155.66

This may be a dumb question, but I'm noticing with my 06 s2000, in 1st I'm only getting to about 29mpg and hitting 8000rpm, 2nd - 50, 3rd - 70. I'm wondering if anyone knows my max speed is lower than the listed above? I've been told that possibly this may have something to do with the transmission fluid, but wanted to see if anyone else might have an idea.
Thanks in advance for any info.

200rpm isn't gonna pick up 8-10mph... sounds like the rear end has a different gear set...

Go to the drop down box and select your S2000. I have found both to be highly accurate.

These speeds quoted above are with a 245/40 x 17 tyre @ 8000rpm.

What size tyre are you running, as a smaller one will gear the car down quite some way (but you would have to have REALLY small wheels to get down to only 29mph in first). I suspect you have a shorter final drive fitted. If you can give you rear tyre size, you can work out what final drive you are likely to have in the car to be limited to 29mph in first.

Who-ever told you that transmission fluid can change your gearing is numbskull. The only things that can alter the in gear speeds are: Tyre & wheel size / final drive ratio (in the diff) / gear ratios (inc primary gear reduction) and rpm limit.

Assuming you have stock wheels and tyres, it "looks" like with the speeds you are reaching that someone has installed a 4.77 final drive. However, you can confirm this easily, as your max speed at 8k in sixth will now be only 133ish mph (which you can confirm as the speed at 4k in 6th would be around 66-67mph (again with stock wheels / tyre sizes).

I thought tires had no effect on the indicated speed on the dash, only the "true" speed to an outside observer. Doesn't the speedometer use the VSS signal which is directly inside the transmission? In which case I would think you have something else going on, unrelated to any final drive ratio or tire diameter.

Is there any chance there is a problem with your speed sensor? I test drove an s2000 a few months ago that displayed speed on the dash MUCH lower than actual speed due to this... Just a thought. Then again, it was inconsistent on that car, so if yours is consistent It's probably not your issue. Idk. Something to think about.
