s2000 rpms slipping or hanging ? help ?
so ive been having a problem for a while now with my s2k its been riding very slow and sluggish and the rpms hang when you nail it . ive done several things to help and the sluggish has gotten better but still not riding how it should . ive done valve adjustment , new spark plugs , new k&n drop in , new berk HFC , map sensor cleaned and fresh oil change. its gotten a lil better with the things done . but still not happy with . ive also done a compression check about 2 weeks ago and it go 225 stright through all the cylinder car seems fine but it isnt running fine . im thinking next it a clutch . cause i dont know what else it could be . this is the video of when it hangs at 7k when you nail it .

With 60k mi it could be the clutch wear, but that is classic flywheel slip due to the AP2's heavy flywheel and the pp not having enough clamping force and it only happens at high rpm when the energy in the flywheel is too great. The rpm "hang" is the clutch friction disk and the flywheel sliding across each other because the pp can't apply enough force to clamp them together. When people talk about high rpm slippage, its usually the flywheel/pp. It will lead to premature clutch wear.
Test your clutch (in a proper manner) by putting it in 5th at like 30-40 mph and then flooring it; does the car struggle or do the rpms race up without the car speeding up? Thats a bad clutch if they do, but if they slowly come up and it feels like the car is lugging, the clutch is okay.
Either way, the only fix is to replace the clutch system, just know what parts to get so you don't have it after you reinstall everything. Lighter flywheel, a stronger pressure plate, or both, along with the usual new parts will remedy the issue. Otherwise, slow your shift a fraction of a second and you'll never experience it.
