Default S2000 very dim headlights

Hi all, very new to the group! Finally managed to buy my first s2000 after toying/researching with getting one for past 6 months and so so glad I did, it’s a red ap1 Japanese import

only two problems I’m having is cv issue and after reading many threads on here think il try swapping them over

the thing I’d like some advice on is my headlights are terrible I can only see about 2-3 meters in front of the car, the lenses seems pretty clear so I was wondering what I do To greatly improve visibility whilst driving in the dark

thanks for any advice hope everyone’s having a great weekend

You think it's the lenses or bulbs? Photo will help us on the lens part. Be careful checking the bulbs as they're HID and high voltage. I've seen replacement recommendations as short as 3 or 4 years for these bulbs. I have a spare set in my parts box but my 17 year old HID bulbs seem fine. High beams are Halogens and bright versions are auto parts store items.

Your S2000 was imported from Japan? Wow! Makes it 1 of 120,000 (or so).

Thanks for getting back to you two!

after checking the light, the bulbs are fine but think I’ve got some faulty wiring into them as when I wiggle it about they come on so think some of the connecters might need replacing!

And yes the cv joint would you say to fit spacers then instead of getting new cv joints? Where would I get these spacers from?

and thanks Chuck really happy with the new car just needs some tlc in a few places, got new discs and pads for rear going on tomorrow, then il tackle the cv issue and lights and would be nice ti get a new soft top as mines abit scruffy

And yes car was imported to the uk and I managed to get it with the private plate saying S200 witch is great the car has had a gearbox rebuild 8 months ago new clutch and flywheel and was resprayed last year so is in really good condition and luckily rust free

first time owner for s2000 for me but think I’ve made a good purchase especially after I give it some well needed love in places so be prepared for many questions from myself in the forums lol I do try to research existing forums to save asking commonly asked questions and will definitely be attending some meets to meet you all and the community!

Headlight lenses look fine to me.

You can clean/treat electrical connectors with something like DeoxIT D100L.

After cleaning, I would also recommend this -

HONDA (invisiblemask.com)

The thick, clear headlight film actually fills light scratches and dings, provides additional UV protection, and offers some scratch and chip resistance. Follow the directions and it's easy to apply.
