S2000 weird shifting/shifter feel
Similar "problem" here. I hear and feel a "thump/clunk" particularly from a stand still, and I am trying / in the process of shifting into 1st.
Think of a parallel parking / red light stop scenario
(Depress the clutch pedal -> row the shifter towards 1st -> *mild CLUNK* - > still goes into 1st with no drama)

Clutch fluid is dirty and should be changed. You can gravity bleed the system but that requires getting under the car.
You can do this from the top with a "turkey baster" by extracting and discarding as much as you can. Put in clean fluid and agitate (I pump it in and out with the baster). Repeat until clean.
Don't touch the clutch pedal when doing either method or you'll introduce air into the line and have to bleed the system.

No indication the dirty clutch fluid is the culprit here -- but the color indicates it is very dirty. This happens frequently due to the way the clutch system works. Changing it won't hurt and with the baster is simple. Don't drip any on the body work.

Two issues now being discussed in this thread. Its now clear OP issue is clutch drag. Causes are outlined in post by B serious.
Properly adjust clutch freeplay. Make sure fluid is good. If issue persists, its likely fix will require dropping trans. Either you have an aftermarket clutch disk that is losing a spring, or rusted splines, etc.
The other issue now in discussion in this thread is the person that is describing thunk from dead stop. That has already been discussed in this thread, that is normal, and itsnow clear is not what OP is experiencing.

Diff fluid has nothing to do with shifting...but you should change it if you feel its time for maintenance. Use GL5/GL6 fluid. Don't use non GL5/GL6 fluid.
A Lancer's shifter feels like shit. So...good thing yours doesn't feel like that, eh?
Again...
Genuine Honda clutch
Freeplay adjustment/no air in hydraulics
Fluid type/condition
Shifter grease
Make sure those are good. Once that's done...that's how the shifter in this car feels. It won't feel like most other cars.

Normal. You're feeling physics. Like Isaac Newton. See CarAnalogy's explanation above.
The clutch fluid should be almost clear. But the dirtiness of the clutch fluid has almost nothing to do with shift feel.

Doesn't look awful.
But its dirty for sure.
If its free of air already, your shifter feeling will NOT change by swapping out the clutch fluid.
But you should bleed it to change it out. Which will also remove air. So....you win twice.

Definitely change it. No point in checking colour...but new trans fluid is also almost clear (assuming its Honda MTF and not something else)
And the diff fluid. Just change it.
They're both probably loaded with water.
