Default s2000 wheel and frame alignment

I just bought a 2003 S2000 (Silverstone with black) with 13k on it. The tires were well worn so I thought this was a good opportunity to upgrade to 17" wheels. I got a wheel package from TireRack consisting of ASA AR1's and Bridgestone s03's. They look and run great but I'm concerned that the tire on the driver's side protrudes 3/8" outside the wheel well, while the passenger side tire is essentially flush.

Jim at TireRack suggested the camber might be off so I took it to the local Honda dealer to have the alignment checked. They told me it was almost spot on. The next thought was that the offset of one of the wheels was not correct (despite being labeled correctly). I figured that if that was the case and I switched right & left, the passenger side should not protude. Not so, the driver side still protrudes. (this was just an experiment and I put the wheels back in the correct direction of course).

This leads me to believe that it must be the car and that it will entail some frame measurements/corrections. There is no obvious evidence that the original owner may have had a little "offroad excursion" or accident.

If anyone has had a similar problem (and a solution?) or can just shed some light on my problem I would be eternally greatful because it's been an otherwise really fun ride thus far!
