Default S2K Engine Issue Please Help

I have swapped out my f22c in my 2001 ap1 with a fully built f20c has sleeves, pistons, rods, valves, springs.... ect w/ 9:1 compression ratio.

My issue is I put in an aem ecu 1052 and had a friend load it with a general map as I was going to use the car for about a month to break in the diff from puddy mod and I also have to get to and from military hospital. My plan was to hopefully put the turbo kit on in the next month and take it to be tuned....

Well car ran find with aem mapped but come to find out after about a 2 tanks of gas that it was burning extremely rich... so i have taken out the aem and am in the process of putting in the original 2001 ecu, but the car seems to be stuttering. (Note the EGR is deleted on the engine and the oil sensor switch has a bolt in its place.) I am going to try and retrieve the egr and hopefully grab the oil sensor switch and try with those in proper place.

Did i ruin the motor with the 150 miles driven flooding the cylinders with gas? .....
Could I need new piston rings?
Is this engine stuttering the ecu relearning?
Could the missing egr and oil sensor switch below the tct be the issue?

I am going to change the oil also even though it has had fresh oil put in when i did the swap 150 miles ago... hopefully remove any carbon and fuel that might have leaked through...

Many thanks to all of you for reading and any help is very greatly appreciated

-Adam

There is no EGR valve on the F20 that I am aware of. Have you tried resetting the ECU and letting the idle re-learn?

I apologize I have been calling the secondary air valve an egr as that is what the previous owner of the engine called it to me telling me it had a delete plate in its place as aem does not read from that same with the oil sensor

I have not reset the ecu... How do i do so if i do not find the answer via s2ki and google...
How long does it take for an ecu to learn and what should i expect when it does so?

Thanks so much for answering Murphg05

If you are going to be reinstalling components, I would wait to reset the ECU until you have it put together the way you want it. Then it is a matter of pulling the 7.5 backup fuse ( 3rd one down on the right of the fuse panel if I remember ). Wait a few minutes then replace the fuse. Turn the car on and let it idle. I let mine run at idle for about 10 minutes. There are some DIY's on here that explain in better detail. Good luck with it... hope this helps out

great thanks I have been researching since we last spoke

I have a question and I am a newb to the turbo scene... as the built motor in my car is 9:1 and not boosted is it detrimental to the engine if i drive the car on stock 2001 ecu for a little while with out the turbo or tune?

My way of thinking is that it would just be slower and need to be babied more until the build commences and is tuned. I am just wanting to have my s back and drive-able until i can save up the proper funds to complete the job correctly the first time...

If you are running with just the stock ECU I don't see why it would be bad for the motor. As long as it is running properly and not too lean or too rich etc. I would think you would just have a really good build that has been dumbed down by running stock ECU. If the motor has been broken in already I don't think you need to baby it either. Hopefully someone else will jump in and give their .02 on it. Can't help you on the turbo aspect with the S, only turbo I've messed with is on a VW bug
