S2k refreshed!
Well i bought my car 2 weeks ago and been wanting to clean up a bit and change all fluids and spark plugs. I took it to a honda dealer the first day for an oil change, so i dont know what they used but oh well i guess.
Here's the list.
Tranny fluid - 2 bottles of Redline MTL 90
Diff fluid - Royal purple 75w 140
Clutch fluid - ATE the blue stuff
Spark plugs - OEM NGK's
Mother's clay bar with Meguiar's Quik detailer (I didn't like mother's cinnamon smell)
I wanted to try the Redline shockproof diff fluid but i got confused because they had a lightweight and a heavy weight type. Both weren't 75w 90 or 140. I have heard here that the Redline shockproof gave good results. But the guy at super autobacs said Royal Purple has the shockproof stuff in it already.
After driving it with Royal Purple it felt alot better than before. Maybe its just in my head but it seems to have a better kick in out of turns and acceleration.
The tranny fluid also helped my notchiness. I was so used to it before and now, it's almost too easy to get in gear, which is a good thing. 2>3 shift is where i notice the butteriness.
When i first saw this car, i felt the paint on the hood and it was soo rough. I thought the paint was deteriorating or something. But i had a claybar at hand and tried it not thinking it would do anything. Low and behold, it smoothed out the small section i tested. So i went with the entire car and man am i happy.
Clutch fluid, i couldn't tell the difference. Should i feel a difference?
If it wasn't for S2Ki, i would be clueless on what works and what doesn't.

I know that shockproof isn't good for a long period. I am going to change diff oil every oil change. Since Royal Purple is almost the same stuff, i know what i am getting into. I haven't seen many Royal Purple diff users here. Do you know how Royal Purple is in the diff?
I use Royal Purple in the diff, I dont have many options of oil choice where I live. Its been in there for a while now and I havent had any problems, does feel better than before so I guess its good.

Claying the car is good as it strips all the contaminates off. But it will also take off all the wax and any other protection that was on there. You'll need to re-wax the car.
Come visit us over here. There is a lot of info on what you should do after claying your car.

is it just me, or is that diff fluid a high weight? I always run 75W90
and did you use MTL, or MT-90? they are 2 different things. I believe that MTL is the correct fluid... or its what i use at least.
