Default Salvaging an s2k

I'm in the process of rebuilding my s2k. Let my tire go bald and slid into a wall nose first at 40 mph. I got the frame straightened, had a new clip welded up front and got all wheel alignment and 4 fresh tires. The car is ugly but holy shit does it handle like a beast. Now I'm at a crossroads I need to get the car legal but the seat belts are blown and I need to know the best way to remedy to situation and get the check engine light to turn off.........new belts? harness? And how do get the computer to cooperate because I'm not replacing the whole system for the money it makes no sense if there is any other possible way. Any help????

This is my most disgusting reply ever...

You broke it, you fix it. May the lord of rebuilt titles have mercy on the soul to whom you sell it when you figure out how to get the light off.

I worked for years in the high-volume used car/auto repair industry and don't have much faith in the condition nor the honesty of those who repair this vehicle, given the fact that you're looking to do it on the cheap, rather than on the right.

I make less than 22 thousand a year and already pour the maximum amount of money I can into it. Why wouldnt I look for a cheap outlet for the situation? It will be a cold day in hell if I sell my car It's an expression of me and how I like to drive. As someone who rides motorcycles I could give two shits about seat belts I just need them there for legal purposes and get back on the road so I can drive to the track and back.

Seat belt retractors have no effect on the check engine light, only the srs light.

I'd imagine the srs light is on?

If the air bags blew, you need to replace the SRS computer, air bags and seat belt reels. Then reset the SRS system which you can do with a paperclip.

Yes the srs light is on. How much does an srs comp cost? Seat belts are cheap but I don't need airbags to pass inspection so I'm trying to avoid that if possible.

There are people on Flebay will reset your SRS module for $50 and repair your locked seatbelt for $60.. But you will have to buy your airbags either used or new.
I have friends that rebuild salvage cars from auctions and that how they fixed the cars with blown airbags.
