Hint: Turbo Charging carbureted engines is a PAIN.

An analogy which those sharing Stereo and/or Home Theater interests might appreciate...

The typical SC kit is kinda like one of those home-theater-in-a-box rigs... EZ and quick to set up, all color coded quick plug-in wiring, very enjoyable but not very tuneable. Huge sacrifices in ultimate performance to enhance convenience and price. Like a Bose or RCA system with a vhs playing through an old 25 inch monitor or something. Hey they sell a lot of that stuff and it's not bad...I use a packaged setup for my master bedroom rig.

A good turbo can be like high performance separates. Much more capable, very tuneable, rarer, but often requiring additional expertise and know how. Like a calibrated THX ULTRA2 certified, DVD/HDTV front projection system in a dedicated room. When exposed to the latter, those with the former can easily appreciate the advantages and decide if it makes sense for them. You can't really upgrade one to the other either.

Speed costs money, how fast do you wanna go?

Alphahelix,
I understand what you're saying (at least for the most part) but one of the reasons we went with the Tial 46mm wastegate is so we wouldn't have to worry about it failing due to anything. I could have probably gotten by with a wastegate that doesn't retail for $600 but we weren't looking to 'get by'. I agree that the SC is probably a better choice for someone that wants to 'install it and forget about it'. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with the Comptech SC in addition to which it seems that they seem to have some issues (brackets, hesitation, etc.).

derryck,

You are right. There are many issues with both. I can't reinterate enough that I will choose the turbo route everytime. However, the SC Integra GSR 4-door is fun to drive and suprise folks Tial makes a great product. Let not forget...price does not equall quality. But, the tial is the ONLY way in my opinion. Any how, the S2000 motor is a beast of a motor. The entire car has a purity in itself. I don't want hail mary speed out of my car, I wanted the Fourmula one sound, the high rev and "wear the car" feeling. To each his own. The folks wanting to FI the F20, well, it is a new motor, and the way the cam timing works, tuning overlap out should be "a lot of fun." Time will tell.

I see us in a similar situation to the early days of the ITR. When that baby came out most people said you couldn't get much more out it. Well, most people were wrong. I imagine it will just take more time (and more years of S2K sales) for the aftermarket to address Alpha's comments.
