Are you SC'ed guys experiencing any wheel spin in 1st or 2nd?

Just curious.

 

The car just rips the tires in first and second. The rear will kick out in third going into Vtec. I ended up getting R compound tires for the street. The RA-1s seem to hold it down ok.

 

Awesome! Makes me want one even more!!

 

What's really awesome is when the tires cut loose in the rain at 90mph. Even less than 100% throttle in the wet in 3rd gear will send you sideways if you're not careful. I'm sure you could do the same in 4th, but I don't have the cajones to try it.

I run RAs, too, now (235/275). Insanely grippy. But with any normal street tire you can get wheelspin at will. And I'm not talking just clutch drop or fast shift type wheelspin--almost any car can do that if you're hard enough on the transmission. With the SC you get 'constant throttle' wheelspin. That is, you mash the gas, the car rockets forward and then when you hit, say, 7000 rpm the back tires light up on their own. I'm tellin' you it never gets old.

yup...tons of spin...especially when you are just getting used to an ACT 6 pucker

 

I tend to use my right foot to keep out of wheelspin, but if you are trying for it, it's possible. With fresh S02's, I had would have to try pretty hard to get wheelspin on the street. When the S02's get down to 5/32's, wheelspin isn't hard at all.

I'm sure Sideways has a much more difficult time than I do keeping the rear tires sticking.

 

Glad you caught that Mr. Sideways. I can't believe you've spun 'em in 4th and 5th!!!! Yikes. Then again, you are putting down SERIOUS FING power.
