Schaeffer's 90w Gear Lube
I'm using LE-607.
That's the best oil for this diff.

[QUOTE]I am sure that product is OK, but LE's additive is better - they have a chart comparing Almasol's ingredient to Moly, and its high temp stability is better. LE's 607 also has a unique way of dealing with water to make the gear oil sludge free (Quinplex, from European tribology). Nothing wrong with Schaeffer (my mom's maiden name) but the LE607 is a more advanced lubricant IMO. It is purple - we all know that means it is better.

I'd rather run le 607 In my diff but as for engine oil that's all i use now. they don't do any sponsorships so not too many people know about it. it has been used in dirt track, NASCAR, and drag racing for years. some people say it is racing's little secret. it's a full synthetic and a hundred times better than royal purple. look them up and read about them. and i knew resurrecting a two year old post is retarded and just asking for it, but thats why i did it.
Just to stir the pot a bit I'm using Schaeffer's fluids exclusively now. I'm running Supreme 7000 motor oil in my tranny and it shifts smoother than any fluid I've ever used. It took quite a bit of convincing by the Schaeffer rep to get me to try it but right now I don't think I'll be using anything else.

then why aren't you using it for your diff?

In all honesty, I have a local dealer for the stuff. For the price of one bottle of LE607 + shipping I can buy three bottles of Schaeffer's. IMHO, the stuff is 90% of what LE607 is, I don't track the car, and the #267 still has decent low temp performance roughly the same as LE607. Finally, BITOG has an interesting review comparing Schaeffer's gear oil to Amsoil gear oil. All these compounded into me using it in my car.

Thanks Mike. I knew this would be fun if i were to come in an old thread and say something like that. I'm good at starting drama.
It could be just my imagination but it seems the whine from my 4.57Rs has been reduced significantly after switching to the Schaeffer's gear lube.
